Flower Therapy

What is flower therapy?

Using nature as a therapeutic modality is not new. The way I conduct flower therapy is a little different from traditional metods. Rather than sit across from your therapist in a room, flower therapy is held outdoors, or in a greenhouse. We will be interacting with nature, engaged in farm task such as weeding, starting seedlings, pruning, watering, planting etc. while engaged in a session of psychotherapy.

Why flower therapy with me?

Prior to my flower farming career, and alongside it, I am also a family and psychiatric nurse practitioner. I was a nurse for almost a decade before pursuing my doctorate in nursing. I spent several years working as a hospice nurse practitioner and loving it. I had always planned on going back to school for my psychiatric nurse practitioner certification (PMHNP) and recently graduated from the Johns Hopkins psychiatric nurse practitioner program. I’m ready to combine my passion and knowledge of flower farming and therapy into what I believe can be a life changing experience.

Who is a good fit for flower therapy?

The short answer is anyone! I find that flower therapy can be especially useful for teenagers and neurodivergent people. Not having to maintain constant eye contact, and having a task to focus on while we delve into deep topics can take some of the pressure off. Anyone who would rather be in nature while we tackle problems rather than in an office is a great candidate for flower therapy!

What does a flower therapy session look like?

You will arrive at the farm and we will spend the first ten minutes reviewing the task we will be doing during that session. We then have a 60 minute session while performing that task.

This all sounds great! How do I get started?

You can fill out the contact me form and indicate that you are interested in flower therapy. You can also email me at info@littlerboomfarm. org. We will schedule a 20 minute phone consultation to discuss expectations and decide if we are a good fit. From there you will be set an intake form and we will schedule our first session?

How much does this cost? Do you take insurance?

Each session is an investment of $200. At this time we do not accept insurance but do plan to get credentialed with some insurance plans in the future. Sliding scale is also available and can be discussed on a case by case basis.
